Kingfisher Waterfront Paradise! Waterfront! Dock Access! Close to the Roche Harbor!

Peaceful, waterfront house with dock nested in a half-acre of fir and cedar forest on Davison Head is a haven of natural beauty and tranquility. From the cedar deck overlooking secluded Neil Bay you can hear the sounds of bald eagles, blue herons and kingfisher. A pleasant 15-minute walk will take you to Roche Harbor Marina and Airport where you can enjoy a grocery store, shopping and award-winning dining. The house is a 20-minute drive from the ferry terminal in Friday Harbor.

**Tides in Neil Bay can be extreme and during low tide, the water can get low enough for the dock to be beached. At zero tide there is approximately zero feet of water. Please contact the office for special instructions regarding dock usage.**

This over 4000 square foot home offers a warm ambiance with its cedar log construction and cherry hardwood floor. The open floor plan and stunning waterfront views leave guests in awe as they enter the home. The gourmet kitchen with open fir cabinets is a welcoming area to enjoy the local produce and seafood bounty from the island. The living room is a sunny area for reading or a short nap after an island bike ride. A separate room contains the HDTV (Chromecast TV, you will need to log into the apps with your own info) and gas fireplace for the cooler evenings.

A primary suite upstairs has a King sized bed, walk-in shower and bath tub with a magnificent water view. A second guest bedroom upstairs is equipped with a Queen sized bed and an extra Twin bed for little guests, also with a private en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower.
The third bedroom on the main level also features a Queen sized bed with an adjacent bath and combination bathtub/ shower. There is also one additional bathroom on the main level that has a walk-in shower.

A spacious daylight basement has a game room including a pool table/ ping-pong table, card and foosball table, and a futon bed available. Just outside is the path to the private floating dock where a multitude of water activities can be enjoyed, including kayaking, canoeing and standup paddle boarding.

Finish your day on the lovely cedar deck overlooking Neil Bay as you enjoy an outdoor barbeque dinner among friends. The seabirds and wildlife will be sure to ease you into the relaxing island lifestyle.

Fire pits are not usable from May 1st-September 30th due to county burn ban and safety of property and neighboring areas. Ban is usually lifted October 1st if/when conditions and weather are favorable. Firewood not provided.

The internet / Wi-fi at this house should be sufficient for streaming video, phone calls, remote work and video conferencing. Internet Speed Test Results… Download Speed: 27.09 Mbps, Upload Speed: 18.23 Mbps, Ping: 62.6 ms (Average of three tests that were conducted in January of 2022 using SpeedCheck Pro).
San Juan Island is a remote location, and it is good to keep in mind that intermittent, short, Wi-Fi disruptions are very normal for this area.

  We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything was in good condition, and as described. We used the dock for our paddleboards - but not at low tide. The only thing missing were drinking glasses in the kitchen - the largest non-wine glasses are just 4 oz juice glasses. Please get some 12 or 16 oz glasses! If that's the only thing we could think of to write - then it's was really all good.

  Kingfisher was a great place for the three couples in our group. Plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen is a generous size and we had plenty of room to maneuver there to cook group meals. The only drawback for our group was the steep stairs down to the water and we decided against trying to get kayaks down to the dock to launch. But there was an area not far away available to park and launch from there. I highly recommend San Juan Property Management and the Kingfisher property. We'd love to go back!

  A perfect spot for our first time to San Juan Island - very close to Roche Harbor and a pleasant drive to and from Friday Harbor, we were able to enjoy dining out and things to do while still have a private, beautiful place to land each day. Loved having the dock to bring our kayaks & paddleboards out and seeing beautiful sunsets/sunrises from Neil Bay. Saw plenty of wildlife including a deer/fawn and a couple otters in the bay.   We showed up to the island a bit early and we were notified when the house was available. When we arrived the directions provided to get in the home were easy to follow and exactly as noted. We were suprised to find an entire extra bedroom in the home!! The Master upstairs has an amazing view and beautiful on suite then on the main floor 2 queen bedrooms with a bathroom right there for their use, right above those two rooms is a 4th room with a queen and twin. Then there is the media room that has an attached bathroom with walk in shower. A guest could easily sleep in that room with all the privacy of the other rooms. Then there is the downstairs with all the movies books and games, along with easy access to the fire pit and doc. The kitchen literally has everything you could possibly need to cook your meals along with some amazing local seasonings, blender, and food processor. The only thing I could not find was a lighter to get the fire going. Luckily one of the girls in my group had one. What a beautiful view from the fire pit, deck, house. We will definitely stay here again.

  We absolutely loved this property that was right on Neil Bay with amazing views of the sunset from the dock where we even saw sea otters play in the water. It is about a 5-minute drive to Roche Harbor and the large, outdoor sculpture park. The house has everything you need with four bedrooms, four bathrooms,a large dining room/living room/kitchen and a huge playroom downstairs with a pool table, ping pong, foosball and a card table. We enjoyed eating outside on my large, outdoor table with many chairs and cooked hot dogs and s'mores over the open fire in the fire pit. We saw a lot of deer on the property and enjoyed being able to ride our bikes to Roche Harbor and a nearby beach to watch the sunset. The house is very nicely furnished with art from all around the world and it has a very cozy,warm feel to it. We did not want to leave and decided to stay an extra night. You will love this place!
  
  *A welcome book for things to do in the area, night lights in the rooms, some coffee for breakfast and more DVDs to watch would have been nice. Many steep stairways in the house and outside, so not a great place for younger kids. Also, lots of nice art that kids could break if they are young. We have a 10 and two 13 year olds. Perfect for them!

  Such a lovely spot and beautiful, cozy home to spend a restorative week with the family. The pool table and poker table provided great evening entertainment. The night that we had a fire in the fire pit was the same night that the SpaceX rocket made it's dramatic appearance in the sky as it broke up upon reentry, which we were lucky enough to see over the trees on the other side of the water. We enjoyed several hikes and a whale watching trip. We were fortunate to see one grey whale on the trip, as well as sea lions, bald eagles, seals, many varieties of ducks, and lots of beautiful scenery. We really enjoyed your home and are appreciative for the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful location. It was a much needed reprieve from our usual Covid routine.

  A very attractive island house, with plenty of room for 4 adults and 4 kids. Plenty of places to play, including a red room with football etc and a dock, plus nature walks with deer etc. we had planned to rent 2 of the cabins at Roche Harbor for the 2 families but this was a far superior choice: much more room, and way more attractive for less than the cost of 2 cabins. Only a 5 min drive from Roche, so we still could use their restaurants and facilities.

  The five of us enjoyed our time at Kingfisher. Such a nice touch to have fresh flowers on the table when we arrived. We woke in the morning to an otter having a grest time swimming off the pier. Three small deer visited regularly. We loved lunching on the deck overlooking the water. The home comes with everything you need. The location is perfect with groceries and dining options within minutes in Roche Harbor. You will love your time there.

  This house is great for families! It has a nice layout with 4 bedrooms and 4 full baths. Lots of space! The games and activities provided downstairs were wonderful.
  The kitchen is very well appointed.
  The only concern was that the walkway to docks was a little rough, especially for the older members in our group. We brought paddle boards which were fun to cruise around the little inlet, saw seals, otters, jellyfish.
  I would suggest some portable chairs for renters to use on dock and at fire pit for comfort.
  Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

  We did a "couples retreat" in the San Juans to get a break from Seattle and stayed at this incredible property. The location was quaint, the house was charming, and we had a lovely time. There are two large bedrooms, two smaller (but darker!) bedrooms, and then a den and a basement with plenty of room. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. We loved drinking beers on the dock and looking for wildlife (we saw crabs, otters, herrings, birds, and fish). The property management company was amazing and easy to work with. We were on a late ferry Sunday, so they let us do late check out. The owner wasn't aware of this, so he came over to water the flowers! We loved meeting him and hearing more about his family and life on the island. The house is a beautiful 20 minute drive from the ferry. You will definitely need a car to get around, but this house is worth it!

  Our family gathered on San Juan Island to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. What a great time we had. The house is spacious, well-appointed and comfortable...and it has stunning views of the bay. Each day we were treated to sights of seals, deer, ducks, bald eagles and numerous sea life. Our group ranged in age from 4 to 70 and the house and location was perfect for everyone. Our grandson especially liked digging for crabs, worms, jellyfish etc. We also enjoyed playing basketball and ping pong. And the artwork throughout the house was beautiful. We loved the house and it helped to make our time together so wonderful!

  This was a great rental property. Located on a little inlet, you see plenty of wildlife from all the windows - harbor seals, bald eagles, fox, countless birds! It would be great if the property had boats to borrow, but next time I plan to bring our own kayak. The home itself was very clean and had plenty of room for everyone. The game room in the basement was also a great touch for the rainy days. We would love to stay again and for a longer visit.

  We spent a relaxing time with family over the Christmas holidays at the Kingfisher Waterfront Paradise. The home is simply beautiful. We enjoyed many scenic spots on the island, but mostly appreciated the serene winter setting and the chance to enjoy a quiet and cozy time to play games, read in front of the fireplace, and lots and lots of cooking. The kitchen had everything we needed and grocery stores on the island had plenty of festive options. Little touches provided by the home owners and the management company made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. We loved touring the art throughout the house. The home was clean and well appointed in every way. We highly recommend this home and hope to return in the future.

  I can't say enough good things about this rental house! It was an ideal location for a wedding weekend at Roche Harbor - just a couple of minutes drive to get there, or you can walk if you are energetic (probably 1.5 miles each way). The house and property were quiet and lovely with lots of room for our group of multiple families. The description isn't very clear, but there are two bedrooms with a Q each on the main level (grouped together with a bathroom), a den on the main level with private bathroom, and two separate upstairs loft bedrooms with separate staircases, each with private bathrooms and one with an extra twin bed in the room.
  
  We loved sitting out on the deck and on the dock - it would be nice if there were folding chairs to bring down to the end of the dock - you might want to bring camping chairs. Decor is very artsy and casual/rustic. Everything was very clean and comfortable - would come back for sure!

  An amazing property. We stayed here for 4 nights with our adult children. The location, although 15 minutes from Friday Harbor, was great. We were out and about during the day enjoying the islands and this was an absolute retreat to look forward to come "home" to. It was immaculately clean and spacious so that everyone had their own space. The deck and views in the back were perfect for morning coffee and afternoon wine. Property management was very attentive and helpful. The lockbox on the door made checkin and check out so easy. You will not regret booking this property! If I had one complaint it would be that I wished more windows had screens so that we could open the windows. Nevertheless, 5 stars!

  Our stay was quite lovely. The home is beautifully maintained and the setting is very serene. We had an excellent star gazing night! The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. The fresh island eggs were quite a treat! The house is spacious and can easily accommodate a large family or multiple couples. It is a short 1.3 miles to the Roche Harbor resort. There is plenty of walking and trails available. Although the property is listed as pet friendly, be sure to check well in advance of your stay. I would definitely consider staying here again.

  We shared great family time in this beautiful home. It had about everything that we needed and we LOVED the fun art collection throughout the house. We enjoyed the ping pong and pool table and the view being right on the water is amazing! Two small things that would improve the stay is better wifi (since the house offers wifi), it took about 24 hours to load a movie from Netflix! The upstairs Master Bedroom should have some window treatments, at least by the very open shower area (large full length window right at the entrance to the shower with no covering?). But overall the house gets an A+ rating.

  This was by far one of the best properties I stayed at via VRBO.
